Low branch management
(Click on photographs for more information-suggest starting with 1)
Establishing a tree production protocol begins with an understanding of how trees respond to low branch management. In many ways, how you manage these regulates what will need to be done to the tree later in the nursery. Managing these correctly can shave several to many months from the time required to produce a quality tree. Some growers tell me that they have reduced the time it takes to grow a tree by up to 12 months by making adjustments in low branch management.
