Erin E. Alvarez
Lecturer / Landscape Horticulture
Erin Alvarez is a lecturer with a 100% teaching appointment. Her award-winning teaching programs are supported by her landscape horticulture industry background and a focus on student-centered active learning and professional development. Erin is currently the instructor for regular offerings of online and in-person Plant Propagation Lecture and Lab, landscape and nursery certification courses, Public Gardens Management Lecture and Lab, and the Plant Science program's Practical Work Experience and Capstone courses. In addition to formal teaching responsibilities, Erin is a faculty mentor for the Plant Science program, advises the Environmental Horticulture club, and coaches the Landscape Team. She regularly hosts plant propagation and professional development workshops for students as well as field trips and site visits to landscape and nursery operations and research sites.
