Several months later

This tree was dug several months ago. The nursery ground cloth sleeve was just removed. Trees left in the ground several months will begin to develop new roots on the burlap. Presence of new roots is a good indicator of when the tree is ready to plant into the landscape. The industry has come to call this tree hardened-off in the southeastern US.
