Circling defect from deep planting
This rooted cutting developed a circling root that originated from two inches under the media surface. The root grew up toward the surface and circled nearly 100% around the trunk. To help eliminate this from becoming a problem, remove media as shown above and cut or straighten the root. Cut the root at the point just before it makes an abrupt turn.
