Irrigating dug trees

Irrigating recently dug trees from a field nursery is absolutely essential in all but exceptional circumstances. Misting or drip irrigating several times daily in the weeks after digging is common in many nurseries. In most landscape sites, irrigation needs cannot be met if trees are dug from the nursery, then immediately planting into a landscape.
