Few roots on outside edge of root ball indicate quality
The media has been partially removed on this 15 gallon container oak exposing roots inside. The air root pruning container is shown at right. The tree was planted from a three gallon container 15 months earlier. There were few circling roots on the outside edge of the root ball compared to trees in a traditional plastic container.
