Root growth from B & B root ball
Nursery
production method appears to influence root depth. This oak was transplanted
from a field nursery five years ago in USDA hardiness zone 8. The tree
pictured here was turned up-side-down. Roots were more evenly distributed
throughout the soil profile, and there were more roots, compared to
trees planted from containers.
