The branches in the upper 1/4 of this tree represent the bottom of the permanent nursery canopy. On many trees, they begin to appear by the time the tree in in its second or third year, depending on the growth rate, species and climate. Begin training these into into the canopy. All branches in the lower 3/4 of this tree will come off the tree by the time the tree is sold.
