Leaning tree
Trees
that are leaning can be cause for some concern, but not all leaning trees are
dangerous. Live oaks and other trees that have strong wood can lean away from
other trees or away from other structures without breaking.
However, most leaning trees should be checked carefully. More importantly, all trees leaning toward a structure or toward an area where people walk, work, or play should be examined. Consider the following items:
- Lifted root plate
 - See: Root collar
 - See: Unbalanced canopy
 - See: Cracks in the trunk

 - See: Codominant stems
 - See: Bark inclusions
 - See: more on leaning trees.
