After pruning close-up
After reducing two stems
A reduction cut was made on the lower left stem about one-third the way up from the bottom of the photo (it is tough to see). A heading cut was made on the upper left stem (this cut is easy to see). With some practice, you will be able to train yourself and your crews how much length to remove to produce desired results. Stems on some trees need to be cut back farther than on others because they sprout more aggressively following this treatment.
