The leader is now the dominant feature in the canopy, and the canopy is shaped like a tear-drop. This helps insure that the tree will continue to develop a strong, pleasing structure. The large stems on the lower left and right side of the canopy will need pruning again soon to slow their growth so the leader dominates.
