Large island with large-maturing oak
Designing parking lots with large islands such as the one pictured above will allow large-maturing trees to be planted with less fear of them disrupting hardscape.
Large diameter buttress roots that can raise curbs and walks are farther away from curbs. Curbs should last longer and trees should remain healthier longer and reach a larger size compared to planting in a small island.
