Site modifications

Modifications made to the site can help accommodate a wider variety of tree species. One or more of these options may be appropriate for your landscape. Decide how the site will be modified before choosing plant material.

Site modifications such as moving street lights or overhead wires, specialized design techniques, grading, drainage, soil amendments, etc. made before planting can have an impact on soil conditions that affect tree growth. If a site is modified after the initial evaluation, above and below ground attributes may have to be reevaluated before choosing appropriate plant material.
