This weak attachment is likely to split in the future. Preventive pruning now can prevent this from happening. Reduce the length of the left hand stem so the one on the right will grow faster. Eventually the left hand stem will be removed from the tree because it is way too low on the trunk. In many cases, the lowest permanent limb on shade trees should be at least 15 feet off the ground.
