Anchoring a tree without affecting trunk
Two untreated 2x2s are clearly visible on top of the root ball. These are secured with screws to four vertical 4' long 2x2s installed vertically against the root ball. This system eliminates the need to return to the tree to remove wires or other securing straps from the trunk. 2x4s can be used for large trees. Mr. Norm Easey invented this staking system, I think.
