Identify and save good soil
Saving quality soil from the site can require large equipment, but long term benefits may outweigh the cost. |
For newly developing sites, the best time to begin planning for good tree and landscape plant growth is before construction begins. This early evaluation will allow you to identify good quality soil and make provisions to remove and stockpile it.
Do not allow it to be buried, or mixed with other debris and poor soil because this will degrade its quality. Good quality soil is precious and should not be wasted. It can be spread over the site once the job is complete to promote good tree growth.
