Hazards not related to structure
Dropping fruit, falling leaves or fronds from palms, and low overhanging branches can increase risk for people and property. Removing the sources of the problem or a regular clean up program can help prevent problems.
Healthy royal palms drop about one frond each month. These are capable of breaking windshields and injuring people should they fall on them. With this many royal palms along the street, be sure provisions are in place to manage this risk.
