Hanging items on the trunk
Items should not be attached to trunks. Nails, screws, bolts and other carpentry fasteners should be saved for home improvement projects, not trees. Internal injury results from driving fasteners into tree branches and trunks. Secure flags, cloths lines and other devices to dead wood on your house or a pole rather than live wood in trees.
