Broken roots caused tree to lean

This tree is leaning because roots broke on the right side of the tree in a hurricane.

Treatment: Although the wooden braces support its weight now, the tree is not likely to develop the root structure needed to keep the tree erect as the tree grows larger. Since this tree is close to a parking lot where people frequently pass, consideration should be given to removing it. Trees larger than about 4 inches trunk diameter that lean like this may not develop the root structure needed to hold the tree up in the future.
