Diospyros ebenum, Ebony

Plants I have seen in Hawaii and other tropical places have always had a full canopy with a nice display of foliage. The round, compact shape of open grown trees could make this a favorite should it become known in the industry.

This is the true ebony we know as the wonderful black wood used in guitars, decorative items and some exclusive furniture. The wood is considered semi-ring porous, which means that there is some difference in size between the spring wood pores and the summer wood pores. Pollen causes few if any allergy reactions.
