GRADUATE STUDENTS

PH.D. Students

Andrew Egesa

Andrew Egesa is a graduate student in the Environmental Horticulture Department at the University of Florida. He is interested in molecular signaling during plant development and the interaction of development and stress responses in cereals. He is also an American Society of Plant Biology (ASPB) Ambassador. In his free time, he enjoys playing badminton.

Kim Taehoon

Taehoon Kim is a graduate student in the Environmental Horticulture Department at the University of Florida. His Ph.D. research focuses on the mechanisms of stress tolerance and developmental transition in rice and maize. In his free time, Taehoon enjoys watching sports and playing guitar.

Divya Rana

Divya Rana is a PhD student in the Environmental Horticulture Department. Her current research focuses on exploring the responses to increased temperatures during gametogenesis in maize and rice.

In her free time, she likes to enjoy gardening and painting.

VISITING SCIENTIST

Dr. Javier Correa Alvarez

Dr. Javier Correa Alvarez

EAFIT University – Colombia

Dr. Javier is a visiting professor from the Biological Science Department at EAFIT University in Medellin - Colombia. His work is focused on the study of plant and microbial genetics, with an emphasis on understanding molecular mechanisms during plant-pathogen interactions. During his sabbatical period in UFL/Begcy Lab, he is researching in characterization of gene regulator families using computational biology approaches.
