Laurel oak

fallen laurel oakMore old laurel and water oaks fell down in the hurricanes than other trees. Many arborists agree that this old specimens of these trees are especially susceptible to blow down. They do not compartmentalize decay well so pruning cuts, trunk injuries, and root damage can result in hollows and extensive internal decay in roots and trunk.
