Previous prunings topped the low temporary branches at about 5 feet off the ground. Sprouts from these cuts are now growing up into the canopy. This is fine and expected-vigorous growth this low on the trunk encourages caliper growth. There is a decent leader in the canopy but some main branches are becoming too large, and there are too many branches too close together.
