Two or three stems from the lower portion of the tree are growing up into the canopy and they should be shortened. There are two or three stems that want to be the leader in the top portion of the tree as well; these need to be corrected.

Lower branches have been reduced in length slightly and competing stems in the canopy have been cut back or removed. The leader is bend to the right but it will be tied to the stake in two or three places to straighten it.
