Tabebuia grown in different propagation containers

Yellow trumpet tree (Tabebuia argentia) in two different propagation container types grew very different root systems.

Smooth sided container

roots from smooth sided container

This tree was grown in a smooth sided liner pot and then shifted to a smooth sided one gallon container. Note most roots are twisted together and growing down and circling the trunk at the position of the liner pot.

tree roots from elle pot

This tree was grown in an Elle pot liner, then shifted to a container with 90% air and only 10% plastic. There are no root defects on this root system.
