Trees resisting damage

trees

Here are some trees that appear somewhat resistant to storm damage. The natural dominant trunk habit on many of these is thought to account for some of this resistance. Most trees that mature at a small size resist wind damage due to their small profile.

  • Many palms
  • Live oak
  • Southern magnolia
  • Sweetgum
  • Holly
  • Sycamore
  • Swamp chestnut oak
  • Spruce pine
  • Baldcypress
  • Gumbo limbo
  • Blackgum
