Central Florida Tree List

The Central Florida region includes the following counties: Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto, Marion, Sumter, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Hardee, Highlands, Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Okeechobee and St. Lucie, which include USDA Hardiness Zones 9A and 9B. Trees growing in our Gainesville plot that are also capable of growing in this region are listed below. Not all trees in this list will grow in all areas in Central Florida.
