The media has been partially removed on this 15 gallon ligustrum exposing roots inside. A 3 gallon liner was planted into the 15 gallon air root pruning container 15 months ago. The container with holes in the wall for air exchange is shown on the right. There were lots of roots on the outside edge of the root ball but none were circling compared to trees in a traditional plastic container.
