Occasionally, trees appear to be defying reason, i.e, the tree appears healthy and the pavement is intact. There can be several explainations for this. 1) pavement might have been added under the tree recently, 2) the soil under the pavement may not have been compacted well, 3) specially designed structurally soil may be present under the pavement, 4) the existing soil may be gravelly, 5) luck.
