Negative effects from planting too deep

The most common symptom of deep planting is unthrifty trees. The shoots grow much slower than they should and the tree appears to "sit there" for years without growing. Trees lack vigor. This oak was planted 13 inches too deep. It took a few minutes of digging to find the root system. This tree is probably too deep for any treatment other than replanting at the proper depth. |
