Roots too deep in the root ball

Trees can perform poorly in the landscape if the point where the top-most root emerges from the trunk is too deep in the root ball. Trees may grow fine in the nursery because soil aeration is adequate but can struggle when planted in the landscape because of poorer soil aeration.
