quality root ball

The media has been partially removed on this 15 gallon container oak exposing roots inside. The air root pruning container is shown on the left. The slits in the container wall are designed to allow air to flow into the media and reduce circling roots. The tree was planted from a three gallon container 11 months earlier. There were few circling roots on the outside edge of the root ball compared to trees in a traditional plastic container.
