This non-majors course provides an overview of opportunities in the exciting field of environmental horticulture. Guest speakers lead lively discussions about the diverse aspects of environmental horticulture, and hands-on exercises make for a great learning experience. Emphasis is placed on the art and science of growing and appreciating plants used to enhance and improve the indoor and outdoor human environment.
During the course, students gain familiarity with the science and business associated with environmental horticulture. Beautiful and interesting plants are given away during each class. Students are encouraged to grow their own gardens and share the wonders of environmental horticulture with their friends.
