Current and Future Directions

Following the conference's first day of presentations and hands-on activities, a “town hall meeting” discussion was conducted to determine what the governmental officials and the public perceived as important outcomes from Florida orchid conservation research.

Topics included informing the public and officials about current orchid conservation literature and being updated on new information when generated.

The notes provided here offer a roadmap of where the 2011 Florida Orchid Conservation Conference may lead orchid conservation research in the future.
