This graph shows height progress (y-axis) plotted over time (x-axis). Blue arrows indicate applicaton of growth regulators, blue triangles are the actual measured crop height. The red lines represent the ideal height progress curve over time.

Weekly Notes 2002

This Week's Notes: Week 49 - We applied a considerable amount of growth regulator to this Success crop and have achieved the desired height. However, the crop is more than a week from being fully developed. Compare these Success to Monet Twilight, the other late finishing variety in this project. Due to a heating problem, the temperature in this greenhouse section has been running cool for the past couple of weeks. Success has generally smaller bracts and seems to really slow down when finished cool. As can be seen in the pictures the transition bracts are even smaller then normal for Success and the true bracts that produce the display in Success have not expanded yet. So, the high temperatures in early Oct. delayed initiation and now the cool temperatures at finish have combined to significantly delay the finish time for this crop.
